The Importance of Joining Church

Now that you have received deliverance, one of the most important steps for you to take is to find a church home.

Many people think that church is neither necessary nor important.  We live in a day of tremendous deception and perversion. Many people will be tempted to depart from the faith (Matthew 24:4).

In that day the Branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth will be the pride and the adornment of the survivors of Israel. 3 It will come about that he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy—everyone who is recorded for life in Jerusalem. 4 When the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and [a]purged the bloodshed of Jerusalem from her midst, by the spirit of judgment and the spirit of burning, 5 then the Lord will create over the whole area of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud by day, even smoke, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory will be a canopy.6 There will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and [b]protection from the storm and the rain                     (Isaiah 4:2-6, NASB).

God says that His glory would be a defense and covering on every dwelling place (natural family home) and every assembly (spiritual or local church family). God promises protection and covering for His people.

However, in order for God’s people to be protected and covered in these days, we must be in the place where God wants us to be. We must be rightly related to the family of God, the church. Just like our natural family is a protection and covering for us, God’s family, or the church, is our spiritual protection and covering.
The church is God’s place that carries out His authority in the earth. Are you under God’s authority today? To be out from God’s authority removes His covering and protection.

  1. Noah – in the days of Noah and the flood, the only place of protection was in the ark. It was a place of refuge or a hiding place for the righteous from all the perversion and judgment of God (Hebrews 11:7).
  1. In the Days of the Plague – When the plague came upon the Egyptians as a means of judgment, God made a distinction between His people and Egypt (Exodus 8:22-23). All who were in the Hebrew land of Goshen were covered and protected from those plagues. They were in the place of God’s provision and protection (Exodus 12:21-23). God promised to form a covering over the doors of their houses so that the angel of death could not enter and take their lives or the lives of their family members.  If they left the house, however, they were susceptible to the work of the destroying angel.

Just because you received deliverance from the Lord does not mean Satan will leave you alone. He will look for openings to return to your life.  When we are submitted to God’s church and under His authority, then we can successfully resist Satan’s fiery darts, wickedness, perversion, deception, and judgment.  Satan must keep his hands off anyone who is properly related to God’s family.

We encourage you to find and join a church and get under God’s covering immediately. We would like to recommend World Overcomers Church (WOOMC). The greatest needs you have now are a relationship with God, understanding of God’s Word, connection with other believers, and a place to work out the issues of your life. You will find all these elements at WOOMC (share about your pastor’s teaching, vision, and leadership).
